The Lord Fills the Hungry with Good Things

We are a brother and sister in the Lord who would like to share our testimony. My wife believed in the Lord at a very young age, having been raised in a denomination. She backslid a couple of times but eventually came back to the Lord after He had spared her life from a near-fatal accident. I became a believer in the Lord back in 1987 just before I graduated from college. We met in the late 1980s under the Lord's sovereign guidance. We were married in June 1990.

The basis of our testimony is the first part of Luke 1:53: “The hungry He has filled with good things.” Since the late 1980s the Lord has given us a real hunger to know Him deeply. “Oh, to know Him” has been the cry of our heart. The Lord has really been faithful in answering our heart's cry.

In November 1992 we went to investigate a local church meeting in Atlanta, Georgia. What we saw was the answer to years of praying. We saw Christians gathered together to simply remember the Lord in a most enjoyable manner; never had we seen such joy. We have since entered into the multifaceted meeting life in the local church in Atlanta. Every meeting is filled with the Word, the Spirit, singing, and praying.

A big help to my wife and me in our Christian walk has been the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. The spoken and written messages left behind by these two brothers are a real treasure to us. We really have been helped by these two brothers in the Lord to not focus on minor issues, but to focus on the main points which are revealed in the word of God, which is nothing less than His heart's desire. These brothers have really “cut straight the word of the truth” (2 Tim. 2:15).

We are really grateful that we have found such an enjoyable Christian living, which is supplied by such a rich ministry. Amen! Hallelujah!
